Pelvic Floor Therapy for Athletes

Built for women who refuse to ‘take it easy’

Rehab for pregnancy, postpartum, or pelvic floor issues shouldn’t stop at basic exercises

Pelvic floor therapy should prepare your body to return to the workouts and activities you love. We go beyond breathwork and band exercises, combining expert pelvic floor rehab with strength and performance training.

With a full gym setup and a whole-body approach, we bridge the gap between rehab and real-world fitness, so you can lift, run, and train with confidence.

Our Three Steps to Healing

Your Journey at Nexus: Clear, Structured, Effective

Restore Balance

We start by identifying the imbalances in your body that are contributing to your symptoms. Using hands-on techniques and targeted corrective exercises, we restore proper movement and function—so you can start feeling real improvements right away.

Retrain Better Movement Patterns

Dysfunctional movement patterns have to be retrained. Through individualized exercises, we teach your body how to move efficiently and powerfully, reinforcing patterns that support strength, endurance, and a lifetime of activity.

Build Resiliency

We progressively load your body with strength-based exercises designed to solidify your movement patterns and make them second nature. As your strength builds, we’ll safely progress you back to lifting, running, and training without limitations.

What We Stand For at Nexus Pelvic Health

At Nexus, we have core beliefs that shape everything we do—and we don’t compromise on them:

  • Pelvic health isn’t just about your pelvic floor—it’s about your whole body and how it moves as a system. True healing means addressing the full picture, not just isolated symptoms.

  • Real recovery starts with treating the root cause, not just masking symptoms. We take a deep, individualized approach to uncover what’s holding you back and fix it for good.

  • Your rehab should set you up for long-term health, not just short-term relief. We don’t just get you out of pain—we teach you how to maintain strength and mobility for a lifetime of staying active.

  • Strength training is non-negotiable. Building strength is the key to feeling resilient, whether you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or simply aiming to stay strong and active for years to come.

  • Your care should be dictated by experts who have your best interests at heart—not insurance companies. We prioritize what’s right for you, not what fits into an insurance model.

“Amanda has been absolutely incredible! I started seeing her late in my 2nd trimester for hip pain, and continued to see Amanda for birth prep and recovery postpartum. She is not only knowledgeable but kind and helpful when sharing and teaching you about your pelvic floor. I’ve been able to get back to being active with confidence that I’m helping my body heal and preventing any further damage-all thanks to Amanda! I highly, highly recommend Amanda if you’re seeking out Pelvic Floor Therapy!”

“I was initially very hesitant and put off starting PT, but am SO glad I did, and Amanda made the experience very positive and beneficial for me. Amanda is extraordinarily kind, professional and knowledgeable. She made sure to work at a pace that felt comfortable to me, and was so thorough educating me on various exercises, relaxation techniques and general anatomy/physiology. Her bedside manner is incredible, and I genuinely looked forward to our sessions. I would recommend her to every single one of my loved ones. 11/10 stars, she is the absolute best!! I would not have overcome several personal hurdles without her guidance and care. THANK YOU!”

“I've been seeing Dr. Amanda for about a year and a half now, and I recommend her to just about every woman I know. Her ability to connect pelvic floor issues to broader muscle groups truly sets her apart. Almost every issue I've brought to her has been resolved through homework, neuromuscular retraining, or trial and error sessions. Dr. Amanda doesn't give up until she finds the root cause of your ailment and a plan to fix it. She's now my go-to fixer for full-body issues. Her care is to thank for my Crossfit lifts getting stronger, the reason my lower abs are defined, and for me being able to carry my toddler in a hiking pack. Plus, she's easygoing, makes you feel super comfortable, and is fun to get to know!”

“I highly recommend seeing Dr. Amanda if you are experiencing any pelvic floor issues! I started seeing her 4 months postpartum and wish I would've met with her while I was pregnant. I've learned through her that many things can affect the pelvic floor and during our sessions Amanda does a full assessment to pinpoint what should be focused on. She is extremely knowledgeable and does a great job educating and teaching things I can do at home to help with pelvic floor health. I also appreciate Amanda for getting to know me as a person - she truly cares about her patients! My postpartum recovery has come so far thanks to her. I cannot recommend Dr. Amanda more!”

In-Network vs. Out-of-Network: Why We Choose a Better Way

At Nexus Pelvic Health, we’ve intentionally chosen to be an out-of-network, cash-based practice—because we believe your healthcare decisions should be made by you and your provider, not dictated by insurance companies.

Traditional insurance models often limit the quality of care, forcing providers to prioritize volume over outcomes. We refuse to compromise on what’s best for you.

At Nexus, we’re here to provide the highest level of care, ensuring you get the personalized attention, treatment, and results you deserve—without interference from insurance red tape.

      FAQ

      What conditions do you treat?

At Nexus Pelvic Health, we specialize in helping women through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond—whether you’re recovering from birth, managing pain, or looking for guidance on staying active.

We treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
      SI joint pain

      Sciatica
      Hip pain
      Pelvic pain
      Tailbone pain
      Low back pain
      Urinary incontinence (bladder leaks)
      Pelvic organ prolapse
      Pain with intercourse

You don’t have to wait until you’re in pain to see a pelvic floor PT. We also help with preventative care during pregnancy and postpartum, providing expert guidance on birth preparation, safe movement, and returning to the workouts and activities you love—without setbacks.

What should I expect during my first session?

Your initial evaluation is all about you, your story, and your goals. We’ll take the time to fully understand your concerns, history, and what you want to achieve through physical therapy.

      Here’s what to expect:
In-Depth Conversation – We’ll discuss your symptoms, background, and goals for therapy to ensure your treatment is tailored to you.
Full-Body Assessment – I’ll guide you through a musculoskeletal evaluation to identify movement patterns, muscle imbalances, and any contributing factors to your symptoms.
Pelvic Floor Assessment – If I believe an internal vaginal pelvic floor exam would benefit your treatment, I’ll thoroughly explain what it involves and answer any questions to allow you to decide if you consent to this as part of your treatment plan.
Collaborative Treatment Plan – At the end of your evaluation, we’ll discuss your personalized plan of care, including the recommended frequency of visits and the roadmap to reaching your goals.
Wear Comfortable Clothes – Expect to move! Workout clothes or any comfortable, flexible clothing are ideal.

Your first session is a judgment-free, stress-free opportunity to get clear answers, a personalized plan, and confidence in your recovery.

What is involved in a pelvic floor evaluation and treatment?

A pelvic floor evaluation is designed to assess how your pelvic muscles function and how they may be contributing to your symptoms. While some aspects of pelvic floor function can be assessed externally, the most thorough evaluation is done internally through the vaginal canal.

      What to Expect:

Internal Assessment (Only with Your Full Consent) – If appropriate for your condition, I may recommend an internal vaginal exam to assess muscle strength, coordination, tension, and trigger points that could be contributing to your symptoms. This involves inserting a single gloved finger into the vaginal opening to gently evaluate the pelvic floor muscles.

Your Comfort Comes FirstInternal work is never required and is only performed with your full consent—every single time. You will also have the option to bring a support person with you for any session that includes internal treatment.

Do I have to have my pelvic floor treated internally to get better?

Nope! Internal treatment is never required to make progress. While the pelvic floor plays an integral role in many conditions, we can often assess and treat dysfunction externally through movement, posture, breathwork, and muscle activation patterns.

However, an internal evaluation provides the most thorough assessment of your pelvic floor muscles and tissues, allowing us to pinpoint areas of tension, weakness, or imbalance more precisely. In some cases, internal treatment may help you see faster or more complete results—but it is always your choice.

Your comfort and preferences are the top priority, and we will always work within your comfort level to help you reach your goals.

When is the best time to see a PT if I want to get back to exercising postpartum?

Before giving birth! Think of it as “prehab” for your core and pelvic floor—just like athletes prepare before a big surgery to optimize their recovery.

✔ The best time to learn how to engage your core and pelvic floor correctly is before labor and delivery. If you already know how to connect with these muscles during pregnancy, you’ll have a much easier time restoring function postpartum.

✔ Research shows that women who train their core and pelvic floor early in pregnancy are less likely to experience postpartum complications like urinary incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse.

✔ By working with a pelvic floor PT before birth, you’re setting yourself up for a smoother, faster return to your workouts postpartum. Instead of starting from scratch after delivery, you’ll already have the awareness, strength, and strategy to rebuild with confidence.

But, what if you’re already postpartum? It’s never too late to start! We help women months or even years after birth regain strength, stability, and confidence in movement.

Do you offer packages or packaged pricing for physical therapy?

No, and here’s why—your recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all, and your treatment plan shouldn’t be either.

At Nexus Pelvic Health, we believe in tailoring physical therapy to your unique needs, goals, and progress. Offering packages would limit our ability to provide truly individualized care.

You won’t pay for sessions or services you don’t need. Every treatment plan is built specifically for you, ensuring that you get exactly what’s necessary for your recovery—no more, no less.

You won’t be boxed into a rigid plan that doesn’t fully address your concerns. Healing isn’t always predictable, and we want the flexibility to adjust your care based on what’s working best for you.

Our goal is to provide the right treatment, at the right time, for the right results—not to fit you into a pre-set package.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Nope! Colorado is a direct access state, which means you do not need a physician’s referral to start physical therapy. You can schedule an appointment and begin treatment right away.

In some cases, I may communicate with your physician to ensure that certain treatments are safe and appropriate for you—but a referral is not required to get started.

If you’re ready to take control of your recovery, you don’t have to wait—let’s get started!
